The post cards above were designed as show announcements for the performance poet Anita Liberty (aka, Susan Weber). The series was included in both Print Magazine’s 1995 Regional Design Annual and Print’s 1995 Best of Typography. You can see more of the series here. The design style of the post cards soon became the visual persona of Anita Liberty, even coming full-circle and becoming a staple of Anita’s stage performances. During my long working relationship with Anita Liberty I also designed: greeting cards, packaging for recordings of her poetry, t-shirts, two small run artist books, which later turned into a book commercially published by Ballantine Books, and much more. |
